As Art Dept. Chair, charged with transitioning an HBCU Art Dept. with a more traditional BA degree Plan into a more innovative and industry standard Bfa degree offering including 3d Digital Design combined with a solid core in the traditional arts. Successful delivery of degree plan was delivered on time and with all committee approvals.
As a Museum Director, given a mandate to showcase contemporary African American artists in a museum of great historical significance. Using a team approach, directed innovative exhibitions and invited lecturers at campus events held in the oldest Museum containing a priceless collection of African American Art in the State of South Carolina.
Introduced and taught 3d animation and modeling (Maya), Rhino 3d for production/prototyping, Adobe Creative Suite and Special FX including Production, Editing, Post Production in Final Cut Pro (Apple) and Adobe Premier Pro (Windows). Creating innovative new directions and opportunities for students in digital media.
Assessing and implementing new curriculum that encompasses the fine arts, computer animation and interactive technologies.
Teaching Industry Standard modeling for production and prototyping including 3d printing.
Academic advising and staff directives including budget and serving Dept. in regard to resources and equipment. Participating in the hiring process of new faculty and adjuncts.
Teaching and designing new online digital media curriculum in conjunction with Claflin University directives and Learning House.
Recruiting both in person and online. Overseeing the design and delivery of online departmental visual portfolio.
Scheduling Art Exhibitions and campus events at the Arthur Rose Museum. Preparing faculty and students for professional exhibition both on campus and off campus.
Promoting the department in Museum and professional exhibition opportunities.
