Native Art Visual Visions

Contemporary North American Indigenous Artists

The collection comprises more than 200 artworks gathered on a journey across Canada and the United States, from Ontario to New Mexico, from Arizona to New Hampshire, taking in 8 reservations, including those of the Apache, Cheyenne, Navajo Hopi and Lakota.

With paintings, sculptures, photographs, graphics, engravings, illustrations, fiber and ledger art, cartoons and works of fashion design, the collection bears witness to the dynamism and vitality of a cultural heritage that has long been overlooked by critics or stereotypically relegated to the realms of folklore or exotic art.
